Your Options: Buy Through Us or Use Your Own

No, you don’t have to. You can either use devices you already own or purchase them through TechAbode. If you bring your own devices (BYOD), there is a $25 setup fee per device to cover the time it takes to configure and integrate it properly into your system. If you purchase through us, we make it easy by sourcing the devices directly and adding a small 20% upcharge to the retail cost. This covers ordering, stocking, quality checks, and warranty assistance if there are any issues down the road. Many customers choose to purchase through us for convenience, since it ensures compatibility and we handle all the legwork.

Full Setup, Configuration, and Training

Every installation includes more than just plugging things in. We fully set up your devices, connect them to your Wi-Fi, link them to your virtual assistant (Alexa, Google, or both), and configure custom automations or routines that fit your lifestyle. For example, we can set up a “Good Morning” routine that turns on lights, adjusts your thermostat, and plays music all with one command. Once everything is set up, we walk you through how it works step by step. You’ll leave the session knowing exactly how to use your smart home, and we don’t leave until you’re confident.

Fast, Efficient, and Transparent

Most installations take between 1–2 hours, depending on the number of devices and the size of your home. A Starter Pack with just a few devices can be completed in under an hour. Larger or custom setups with multiple assistants, security, and entertainment integration may take longer. We always provide a time estimate up front, and if your home requires extra setup (for example, Wi-Fi troubleshooting), we’ll let you know before work begins.

Primarily Northern Virginia, but we can accomodate!

We are proudly based in Manassas, VA, and we primarily serve Northern Virginia homeowners. We frequently work in surrounding high-demand areas including Fairfax, Vienna, Great Falls, McLean, Arlington, and Ashburn—communities where smart home upgrades are especially popular.

While our focus is on these local neighborhoods, we’re flexible. If you live outside this region but are interested in our services, we’re happy to discuss travel options. Whether you’re in Prince William County, Loudoun County, or even further out in the D.C. Metro area, we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. As TechAbode continues to grow, our service area will expand even further.
